Day One

I figured if my roommate can blog so can I! I was in school and it did not work out to my eternal horror. I hate programming and will despise it for the rest of my days! It did not help that the teacher was an unhelpful rude conscending troll from hell!!! (I do hope I get over this one day!!!) I did meet some nice people at school so there is a positive!
And my grandmother died and it just shocked me. Actually it really rocked me. It made me think of precious life is and realize wow life can be fleeting. But, she was ready to go.. 92 and for the most part was in a fog. I still miss her because when I was a kid she saved me. She spoiled me rotten but also was there for me whenever I needed her. My childhood was less lonely and my best memories are tied up with her. I am so appreciative that she was in my life.
One special and vivid memory is when I was 12 and we drove from Miramichi to Sault St Marie which is quite a drive! It was in July and thank god she had air conditioning! The first day we got up at 5 am literally and I slept most of the way! I am not an early riser in any sense of the word! We made it to Ottawa and my grandmother had driven about 13 hrs so naturally wanted to stop. We pull into one place and she just saw hotel I look up at the sign and it was animal hotel I tell her Maw we can't stay here and she says why? It says animal hotel on the sign. Well she starts the car and we both start laughing. Outside of Ottawa we stop in this little french community I wish I could remember the name it was about 30 degrees at this point and we decide to eat at the local greasy spoon. They had no air conditioning except a fan rotating around hot air and the food was pretty greasy. Needless to say we could not eat and got the hell outta there! We walk around their mini mall with about 8 stores I dont recognize and go back to the motel and I pass out as soon as I hit the bed! We usually stopped at amazing places to eat and this time did not disappoint. I remember stopping at  a diner and the milkshake was homemade and so big I could barely finish it! It was of course one of those amazing places where they give your the metal cup as well as a huge glass of ice cream and milk and strawberries in massive amounts where you are going to never be able to drink another milkshake again! Ah the days!!! Also I remember driving on the highway and this whole troupe of hell's angels come thundering by and my grandmother locks the door? I inquire why did you do that? Her answer just because! Its funny how this is stored in your brain and you are the only witness now. I sincerely cherish this memory to this day!
